Multiple injuries reported after fire breaks out at Moscow power plant

They labeled the fire an event of Level 3 complexity out of the five available levels. The fire was localized to an area of 800 square meters (8,611 square feet), and at 2:09 PM, Emergencies Ministry employees officially announced that the fire at the pipeline had been eliminated. "There is no threat to the residents of the Moscow Region and the environment", Russian Deputy Emergencies Minister Ilya Denisov told reporters after the fire was under control. One person was killed and more than a dozen were injured in the blaze.

There was no risk of the fire spreading to nearby residential areas, it said. 157 people and 52 vehicles and pieces of emergency equipment were deployed to fight the fire, including two helicopters and two firefighting trains.

By latest reports, fire in the administrative building has also been contained.
