Hundreds of thousands plan raid on Area 51 to 'see them aliens'

Signage on the highly guarded perimeter of Area 51 in Nevada

According to the event details, on September 20 at 3 a.m. PDT, the group will meet at the Area 51 Alien Center tourist attraction and "coordinate our entry" into the highly classified military area, Fox News reported.

"We will all meet up at the Area 51 Alien Center tourist attraction and coordinate our entry", the post reads.

It appears the person behind the page is surprised by - and anxious about - the amount of interest generated as 313,000 Facebook users as of Thursday afternoon are listed as "going" on September 20.

Manchester United ‘staggered’ by £50m asking price

Lil' Wayne: 'This Might Be My Last Night' on Blink-182 Tour
He also said, "I am so not used to performing to a crowd.and there's not too many.that's not my swag". But it looks like Wayne isn't happy with the response at their shows.

The event appears to be a joke, and it is unclear if anybody will actually show up to try to storm the military base. One Facebook user even came up with a plan of deploying a squad of amped up Kyles to take on the first wave of guards.

"If we [Naruto] run, we can move faster than their bullets", the description continues, referencing the Japanese animation in which characters run with their hands and arms straight behind them, theoretically to reduce air resistance. "Let's see them, aliens", wrote the Facebook event page manager in its description.

Since then, however, it has become the subject of numerous UFO sightings and has become inextricably linked in the public's mind with captive aliens and government conspiracies. According to conspiracy theorists, military personnel took the UFO that crashed in the area and stored it in Area 51 to be studied. It is believed that the military uses the base and restricted air space above to develop and test experimental aircraft and weapons systems. In 2013, the Central Intelligence Agency officially acknowledged the existence of Area 51 by declassifying documents detailing the history of both the U-2 and OXCART projects.
