Flowers Foods issues voluntary recall on hamburger hot dog buns

No related injuries or illnesses were reported.

It remains unclear how the plastic got into the production equipment and the type of plastic that was found.

Recognizable products from Flowers Food are brands such as Great Value, Piggly Wiggly, Publix, Sunbeam, Wonder, and Nature's Own.

The recalled buns had best-if-used by dates of July 18, 2019 or July 19, 2019.

The buns are being recalled for possible plastic contamination.

Zacks Investment Research upgraded Flowers Foods from a "hold" rating to a "buy" rating and set a $24.00 target price on the stock in a research note on Tuesday, April 9th.

The company said the product can be returned to place of purchase for a refund, and that consumers with additional questions should contact Flowers' Consumer Relations Center at 1-866-245-8921.
