Protests Turn Violent After U.S. Marshals Fatally Shoot Memphis Man

Protests break out after Tennessee shooting involving US Marshals

Residential streets remained blocked and a heavy police presence remained in the area on Thursday morning.

According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, officers with the U.S. Marshal Service's Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force came into contact with Webber, who was wanted on multiple felony warrants, as he was getting into a vehicle in the 2000 block of Durham in Frayser on Wednesday.

No officers were injured in the incident, TBI said. The violence erupted after officers of the U.S. Marshals Service shot and killed Brandon Webber, 20.

Family members confirmed to the Daily Memphian that 21-year-old Brandon Weber died.

The turmoil came after U.S. marshals shot and killed a man Wednesday night in the north Memphis neighborhood of Frayser, officials said.

"Every life lost should matter ... every single one". How many times will this be ok? "It can not continue to be", she wrote.

No Memphis police officers were involved in the shooting.
