Turlock man among four Americans to die recently in Dominican Republic

Early autopsy results so far inconclusive for 3 Americans who died at Dominican Republic resort

A month before the mysterious recent deaths of three U.S. tourists in the Dominican Republic, another United States tourist died there in similar circumstances.

Robert Bell Wallace, 67, died in April while staying at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino resort in Punta Cana. Immediately, "he started feeling very sick, he had blood in his urine and stool right afterward", his niece tells Fox News. The man made a decision to go to the hospital on April 13 and died the next day. Arnold also reiterates that her uncle, an avid traveler, had been in good health before his sudden death.

Wallace is the fourth American to die while visiting the Dominican Republic since the end of April.

News of the deaths has drawn attention to earlier deaths of American tourists at island resorts that received no publicity at the time - some now suspect - may have been part of a pattern.

Another woman who stayed at the Bahia Principe this week claimed that she "vomited blood" after drinking a 7-UP from her minibar.

Later, the family of American David Harrison, who also died of a pulmonary edema and respiratory failure, spoke out about his death. His family says Wallace became ill after getting a drink from the hotel's minibar. In that case, Tourism Minister Francisco Javier García said an autopsy shows that Schaup-Werner, 41, of Allentown, suffered a heart attack. Maryland couple Edward Nathaniel Holmes, 63, and Cynthia Day, 49, were found dead just five days later on May 30 at the Bahia Principe hotel from the same reported cause of death, The Daily Caller News Foundation previously reported.

The mysterious Punta Cana deaths continue.

Multiple news outlets recently publicized the deaths of three American tourists at the Bahia Principe, another resort area in the Dominican Republic.

They will send experts to conduct tests at the Bahia Principe hotels where Schaup-Werner, Holmes and Day died. But Felecia Nieves, Sport's sister, questions that.

Three people whose deaths have been confirmed all arrived on May 25 in San Pedro de Macoris, a seaside resort in the south of the Caribbean country, Dominican authorities said. "We were promised within three months that we would receive a toxicology report".

Another Pennsylvania woman died at the same resort in June 2018, her sister said recently while a Maryland man, David Harrison, died elsewhere in the country previous year, his wife said.

Kaylynn Knull said she and her boyfriend enjoyed their vacation until they noticed their room beginning to smell of chemicals.
