2 rescued from scaffold near top of 50-story Oklahoma tower

Video footage captured the high altitude drama unfold as the cradle swung from side to side as well as back and forth.

There was a terrifying situation in Oklahoma City on Wednesday as two window washers held on for dear life after their scaffold came loose on the side of Devon Tower.

"A large basket, believed to have window washers inside, is swinging wildly out of control at the top of the tower", Oklahoma City Police wrote on Twitter.

"This is a very risky situation". The lift hit part of the building and broke glass.

"Please avoid the area".

David Macy said the two workers were pulled to safety around 8:30 a.m. after rescuers secured the basket with ropes.

Two window washers were trapped for almost an hour on a dangling basket at the top of a 50-story skyscraper in Oklahoma.

The Devon Tower is 50 stories and is the 49th tallest building in the United States.
