Huawei gets caught using DSLR photos for P30 Pro campaign

Huawei once again uses DSLR photos to promote a smartphone camera

As per official renders, the P30 Pro will come with Leica-engineered quad rear-camera setup and a single selfie camera.

There are only about two weeks until we finally get to officially see the Huawei P30/P30 Pro as well as the P30 Lite, and as usual in the lead up to the launch date, we have been witnessing the influx of rumors and leaks about the upcoming devices.

The Huawei P30 is said to have a maximum of 40-megapixel and support for 5x lossless zoom.

The spokesperson clarified that the teaser posters are "intended to hint at the unique new features" that will come with the Huawei P30 series.

The Huawei P30 Pro is set to boast a periscope-style zoom camera, something that has been confirmed by Huawei's VP of global product marketing, Clement Wong.

Huawei has done it at least a couple of times in the past. Huawei was caught faking smartphone selfies back in August.

Huawei P30 shows off zooming prowess with concert and wedding pictures

Huawei was the second mobile company in the world to commercialize in-screen scanner previous year, having first done so with the weird Porsche Design Mate RS which used no fewer than two fingerprint readers.

Do you think Huawei's on the right track with these designs?

The top of the Huawei P30 Pro is a similar affair with the presence of the same antenna lines and microphone. This was discovered when the model in the ad posted behind the scenes image which clearly showed the couple being photographed with a DSLR camera. A GSM Arena reader found that one of the images used was actually captured with a DSLR camera by a professional photographer. "Huawei also pioneered the use of IR (infrared) sensors to accurately track the user heart rate without using the obtrusive lights of conventional trackers", said the company in a release.

The company says the new update will make Huawei Mate 20 Pro have ViLTE (Video-over-LTE) native support and the device owners will no longer exclusively depend on a third-party app for video chatting with friends and family. The company can not afford to be involved in another controversy that would hamper the tech giant's reputation especially that it has recently launched a campaign to reclaim its lost dignity over the U.S. faux pas.

So far, Huawei hasn't commented on the stock image use, which was noticed by GSMArena.

A few days ago, the United States Ambassador to Germany had threatened the country of cutting them off of U.S. Intelligence if they push through with their plans of letting Huawei provide them the technology for their 5G project. Specifically, Huawei's big boss confidently announced that the P30 line will "rewrite photographic rules".
