House votes to release Mueller report publicly

Lindsey Graham Just Issued a FISA Abuse Clinton Ultimatum on the Release of Mueller's Special Counsel Report

Seven lawmakers - four Democrats and three Republicans - did not vote.

The House passed the largely symbolic resolution Thursday morning as pressure mounts on the Justice Department to release Mueller's full report in a 420-0 vote.

The resolution, however, is non-binding, meaning that Mueller and Attorney General William Barr are not required to publicly disclose the report.

The resolution also calls for the report to be sent to Congress.

As Robert Mueller continues to work behind the scenes, for what many believe is an imminent report on the Trump campaign's possible collusion with the Russian government, the US House of Representatives continue to push for transparency.

Then-Attorney General nominee William Barr testifies during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on Capitol Hill in Washington in January.

The measure faces an uncertain future in the Republican-led Senate. But nobody has lifted a finger to call for an investigation into the other side of the story.

The resolution cites "an overwhelming public interest" in releasing the report "to ensure public confidence in both the process and the result of the investigation". It's not clear yet when that will be, but it is expected to happen in the coming days or weeks.

But, Netflix is still hopeful it'll follow in the huge success of other true crime dramas like Abducted In Plain Sight. People across the United Kingdom grieved the disappearance of the small girl after she vanished in May 2007.

News outlets have reported that Mueller & Co. were in the process of writing a final report on the investigation, which looked into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian Federation as well as possible obstruction of justice on the part of President Trump. Concerns over Weismann's credibility as an independent investigator plagued the Mueller deputy since joining the Russia Probe.

Some Democrats have voiced concern that Barr could withhold evidence of possible misconduct by Trump, under Justice Department policies that oppose bringing criminal charges against a sitting president and discourage releasing explanations when a person has not been charged with a crime.

But it's not yet clear how much of the special counsel's findings the public will get to see. "Nothing has been presented ... that Mr. Barr wouldn't do what the regulation says". Those regulations require only that the report explain decisions to pursue or to decline prosecutions, which could range from a bullet-point list to a report running hundreds of pages.

"This resolution is critical because of the many questions and criticisms of the investigation raised by the president and his administration", said House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler.

That answer has not satisfied Democrats, however, who have continued to press for assurances that the report will be released publicly.

Gidley said he hadn't spoken with Trump about whether the report should be made public.

"I don't know what, at the end of the day, what will be releasable".
