Gary Kubiak surprisingly won't become the Broncos' next offensive coordinator

Broncos expected to bring back just one coordinator

Gary Kubiak will not be the Denver Broncos' offensive coordinator, according to multiple sources.

This is surprising news as both Schefter and KUSA-TV's Mike Klis reported earlier this week that Kubiak would be the team's offensive coordinator under new head coach Vic Fangio. While Gary Kubiak was expected to take on that role, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Friday the two sides could not come to an official agreement. Kubiak was considered a top candidate for the job, but the Falcons hired Dirk Koetter on Tuesday.

The Broncos replaced Kubiak with Vance Joseph but fired him after the coach went 11-21 during his first two years in Denver. Dennison was the offensive coordinator and Pariani the tight ends coach in 2015-16.

Kubiak was thought to be returning to the sideline to run the team's offense.
