Craig McLachlan: actor charged with indecent assault by Victoria police

The charges come a year after it was revealed several of McLachlan co-stars from the 2014 production of the Rocky Horror show had accused him of indecent and inappropriate behaviour.

He has been ordered to appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court on February 8.

In breaking news, actor Craig McLachlan has been charged by Victoria Police with indecent assault offences.

One of Australia's leading musical performers, Christie Whelan Browne, who performed the lead role of Janet during the 2014 Rocky Horror tour, has told police that McLachlan indecently assaulted her during the show.

McLachlan is well known for his time on the Australian soap opera Neighbours, where he played Henry Ramsay - the brother of Kylie Minogue's character Charlene. He also started in the BBC production of Bugs and more recently the ABC's The Doctor Blake Mysteries.

The song rose to number three on the Australian charts and McLachlan got an ARIA award for the biggest selling song of the year in 1990. He has been married to Karen Williams (1986) and Rachel Friend (1998-99).
