Bill Gates' letter to Imran Khan talks about interest in IT investment

Imran Khan reiterated his commitment to move forward sustainable development agenda

Billionaire Bill Gates has said that his multinational technology company, Microsoft Corporation, could explore the investment opportunities in Pakistan.

Gates, in a letter, written to Prime Minister Imran Khan, has expressed his desire to make the huge investment in the information sector, reported ARY TV today.

Dr Ghebreyesus also called on Mr Khan on Tuesday, accompanied by the president of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation's Global Development Division, Dr Christopher Elias.

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has expressed commitment to continue efforts for polio eradication and improvement of the health sector.

During the meeting, Khan said his government is continuing to tackle polio eradication as a national public health emergency. He expressed the hope that WHO would continue as a reliable partner in government efforts to improve health facilities in Pakistan.

"The government is determined to implement a transformative social and economic agenda for a "New Pakistan", he added. Imran welcomed the World Health Organization director general and his delegation to Pakistan, saying Pakistan appreciated the role of World Health Organization in the healthcare system.
