Aussie prime minister's Photoshop fail dubbed 'shoegate'

Prime Minister Scott Morrison mocked over

A spokesman for Morrison said the prime minister did not request or authorise the photoshopping, which was apparently an attempt to remedy Morrison's slightly grubby sneakers in the original photo.

An image of Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison has gone viral thanks to some awful editing.

The banner image on the Prime Minister's website, which at first glance appears to be a happy family snap, found itself on the receiving end of a social media smackdown when one unusual detail came to light.

Amid a string of suggestions that he resign and general Twitter abuse, some social media users reciprocated the gesture, posting photos of their own questionable shoe choices and portraying Mr Morrison with clown shoes.

The picture of Prime Minister Scott Morrison wearing poorly-Photoshopped shoes was uploaded to his official website by mistake, the department responsible said.

Our tax dollars were recently put to work in the PM's graphics department with his slightly grubby sneakers replaced by a pair of no-name white shoes in a family portrait.

The ex-England global added: "Honestly, we are just looking forward to enjoying the experience". You can all go and do one more'.

The fact that the edited image gave the PM two left feet was also laughable.

A spokesperson said the prime minister did not request the adjustment.

"But if you must Photoshop, please focus on the hair (lack thereof), not the feet!"

It's not the only online gaffe Mr Morrison's cabinet had made since he took the top job.

The 11-second clip from question time showed MPs raising their hands, set to the 1999 track "Be Faithful" by American rapper Fatman Scoop.

In October, an internet prankster took over Mr Morrison's personal website after noticing the domain licence had lapsed.
