Kevin Hart Refuses To Apologize For Old Homophobic Tweets!

Image Kevin Hart Deletes Old Anti Gay Tweets After Being Chosen as Oscars Host Image #3

The comedian chose to step down as host of the 2019 Oscars, a position he was named to just days earlier, after homophobic tweets from eight years ago re-emerged on Thursday.

Kevin Hart also had a pattern of calling people "fag" on Twitter, and at one point called someone "a gay bill board [sic] for AIDS" - all of which seems pretty intense for someone recently chosen to host the Academy Awards, which have always been a big to-do for the LGBTQ community.

But while Hart has been deleting past tweets, in a video statement he posted on Instagram Thursday, he said he's not going to get all worked up over the "craziness".

He said he did not want to be a distraction and that he was "sorry he had hurt people".

Hart soon responded to the controversy in a video posted to Instagram but didn't apologise for the tweets.

He continued, "Guys - I'm nearly 40 years old".

While he states that he "love [s] everybody", he feels he should not be accountable for his past actions as people "change, grow, [and] evolve as they get older". As Benjamin Lee points out in a piece for The Guardian, when Hart was asked in 2015 about joking about not wanting his son to be gay, he said, "I wouldn't tell that joke today, because when I said it, the times weren't as sensitive as they are now".

This is a breaking story and will be updated.

Hamas military court sentences 6 to death for "collaboration with Israel"
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, however, has refused to sign death sentences, even in the West Bank. It was not clear when the executions of those in custody would take place.

It'd be one thing if this was a one-time tweet (Still bad, but not as bad), or if he apologized, or if he didn't call out people who were alarmed by him repeatedly using the word "gay" or "fag" in a derogatory manner.

Hart was announced Wednesday as the host of the Academy Awards, but that position is now in doubt.

GLAAD, the advocacy group for LGBTQ rights, had said Thursday that it reached out to Oscars broadcaster ABC, the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences and Hart's management to "discuss Kevin's anti-LGBTQ rhetoric and record". "If you choose to not believe me then that's on you.Have a lovely day". "Or we're gonna have to move and find another host.' Talking about the tweets from 2009, 2010", Hart said in a new video posted Thursday evening.

In his memoir I Can't Make This Up, he said his marriage to Torrei Hart got violent.

One of the 2011 tweets that garnered plenty of outrage reads, "Yo if my son comes home & try's 2 play with my daughters doll house I'm going 2 break it over his head & say n my voice "stop that's gay".

It's not the first time an Oscars host has been forced to answer for anti-gay remarks.

Hart responded to the criticism with a black and white video on Instagram, alongside a long message.

"One of my biggest fears is my son growing up and being gay".
