Burger King is offering 1-cent Whoppers ‘at’ McDonald’s

Whopper Detour

Get more information here. The Burger King app will locate you geographically, using your phone, to make sure you're really near a Mickey D's.

Burger King's app can be downloaded for Android or iOS here. If a guest is inside one of these geofenced areas and has the new BK ® App on their device, the app will unlock the WHOPPER ® sandwich for a penny promotion.

The Detour deal is only available until December 12 at participating Burger Kings, so hurry in to McDonald's, and then hurry in to Burger King to snag this deal.

Flashback: Burger King launched a separate promotion last week where its Twitter account tweeted out straight up gibberish, according to Business Insider.

The WHOPPER ® Detour works by geofencing McDonald's locations across the country.

We're still on the fence about whether the new promotion is clever or downright freakish, but hey, a Whopper for one cent is a pretty good deal.

The latest promotion is an example of how the fast-food restaurants have turned to mischevious marketing schemes to help draw customers away from their competitors.
