Trump Says He Has Answered Written Mueller Questions But Hasn't Submitted

Robert Mueller

"I've answered them very easily".

While speaking to reporters at the White House Friday, Trump said the questions were "not very difficult" and he wrote the answers mostly himself.

The White House has said it would not answer Mueller's questions on possible obstruction of justice, though that hasn't been confirmed by the special counsel's team, which has generally only detailed its movements in court and through court filings.

The president did not say Friday when he would turn his answers over to Mueller.

Trump's lawyers had previously made the case to Mueller's team that the President would only answer questions related to collusion about events that took place before the 2016 election.

Trump's latest cabinet reshuffles and Twitter rants also appeared to reflect a growing concern over the probe. Trump had not yet submitted his answers, according to reports.

Trumpy Bear Official Commercial; Yes, It's Real
The spot aired locally, a spokesperson told HuffPost , denying any national business relationship with Exceptional Products. The flag compartment is located behind its neck-despite what critics have so colorfully referred to as, "up his butt".

"I'm sure they're tricked up", Trump said. "But it's all fake news".

"There should have never been any Mueller investigation, because there was never anything done wrong", he added.

Mueller, who Rosenstein named to head the Russian Federation investigation in May 2017, is investigating whether members of Trump's campaign concluded with Moscow in the 2016 election and whether Trump has unlawfully sought to obstruct the probe, which has cast a cloud over his presidency.

It isn't clear now whether if, when Trump submits his written answers to the special counsel's office, that will end the matter or whether Mueller might still want to hear from the president in person.

Pressed on his tweet storm Thursday in which he accused Mueller's investigators without evidence of going "absolutely nuts", the president assured reporters that nothing of note triggered his tirade but that it was a "continuation" of the objections he's already raised with the probe.

Trump said he suspected some of the questions were created to be pitfalls and catch him in a "perjury trap" - to induce to him to lie about matters for which prosecutors might already have contradictory evidence.
