Injured flanker Curry ruled out of rest of England tests

England managed to smother the potent All Blacks attack to earn their famous 2003 victory in Wellington a win that set up their successful World Cup campaign in Australia later that year

Tom Curry will miss the rest of England's November Tests after suffering an ankle injury during the 12-11 win over South Africa. They've probably got more energy than us at the moment.

According to the Stuff website's Aaron Goile, such has been their constantly threatening strikes this year, New Zealand are on the cusp of creating a new mark, 13, for the most consecutive Tests in which a team has scored four or more tries.

England coach Eddie Jones told the media on Monday he was "cautiously optimistic" over the pair ahead of the clash with the world champions.

"So you'll probably find people that are close to those players and family that might support it, then you'd have others with a different view on players jumping into a national team from another country so quickly".

Brad Shields came "very close" to New Zealand selection before opting to represent England, according to All Blacks assistant coach Ian Foster.

Hansen admitted Jones' vast experience will filter into preparing an England side on Saturday that will certainly have New Zealand on guard, despite the hosts' vast injury issues.

"There's a lot of pressure there, all the time, whether you're winning or losing". So he's not too bothered by it.

"When we were successful with the Wallabies we could beat them because we could get to their set-piece, particularly their line-out", he said.

"You've got to play a certain way against them, there's no doubt about that. He's not everyone's cup of tea, but I think he's a good man".

Territory is a big part of the way they play and their kicking game allows them to do that so we are going to have to have good plans around how we defuse that and we will go from there. There are certain points of the game they appreciate and you want to take them away from them.

"He's had some success against New Zealand in the past, but hopefully he doesn't get any on Saturday", Hansen said of Jones.
