Emma Thompson makes Prince William blush as she receives Damehood

Emma Thompson is made a Dame Commander of the British Empire

Just call her Dame Emma Thompson.

Emma Thompson shared a cheeky moment with Prince William on Wednesday while receiving her damehood at Buckingham Palace.

"I love Prince William, I've known him since he was little, and we just sniggered at each other", Thompson told The Daily Mail. "He said, 'This day isn't about me, it's about you, '" she added.

In June, the Thompson was named for the honor among a group of British actors and artists, including Tom Hardy and Keira Knightley, but revealed she had some reservations about the historical implications about accepting the award. The ceremony officially made her a Dame Commander of the British Empire - the female equivalent of a knighthood - for her services to drama.

Brad Pitt's trial worry
It is expected the courtroom will be sealed off to anyone other than the parties involved because of the involvement of minors. The actors have six children together: Zahara , 13, Shiloh , 12, 10-year-olds Vivienne and Knox , Maddox , 16, and Pax , 14.

But instead of rebuffing Thompson for the sake of royal protocol, what Prince William said next showed once again what we already knew - what an all-round good human being he is. "It's a very lovely feeling".

The BBC notes that Dame Emma Thompson (henceforth known as two-time Academy Award victor Dame Emma Thompson) wore a tailored Stella McCartney tuxedo to the event, accessorizing with a pin that read "Equal Pay" and white sneakers. "Or you can be like me and think, 'Hmmm, it's gonna be a really nice badge'".

Dressed in a navy Stella McCartney suit and white sneakers, Thompson also wore a Fawcett Society Equal Pay button, telling the press she hopes to use her damehood to help stop children from going hungry over the school holidays.

Thompson collected the honour from the Duke of Cambridge with her husband Greg Wise, daughter Gaia and adopted son, Tindyebwa Agaba, by her side.
