Murray drops career-high 48 points in win over Celtics

On Monday night Denver Nuggets guard Jamal Murray made history by becoming the first Canadian to score 48 points in a regular-season National Basketball Association game, matching Hall of Famer Steve Nash's record for most points scored by any Canadian player.

Murray was on fire shooting 19-for-30 from the field, tying Steve Nash's 48 in the 2005 playoffs against the Dallas Mavericks for the highest scoring output by a Canadian in the National Basketball Association.

The Celtics fell apart in the second half of a 115-107 loss in Denver.

That accomplishment was not without controversy, though, as Irving took exception to Murray attempting a deep three-pointer as time expired when the outcome of the match - a Nuggets win - was already certain.

If Irving doesn't want a player to make a last-second bid for 50 points, maybe the Celtics shouldn't let a player score 48 points in the first 47:50 of the game.

"The ball deserves to go in the crowd after a b******* move like that". The shot clanked off the rim, and he finished with just 48 points. "He did it in a great fashion against us", Irving said of Murray's offensive show.

‘Tried Our Best to Capture Tigress Avni Alive’: Shooter Asgar Ali
Women and Child Development Minister Maneka Gandhi on Sunday lashed out at the BJP-led Maharashtra government for killing Avni . The activists said that Avni did not actively enter areas populated by humans with the objective of killing people.

It was a "bullshit move", according to Kyrie Irving, who hurled the ball into the crowd in frustration. Our defence has to be better, especially against a player like that in the pick-and-roll.

"What kind of competitor wouldn't it bother?" "I just had no conscience".

"Everybody knew I was trying to go for 50 at that point". I didn't mean no disrespect.

"I really wasn't meaning no disrespect".

"I don't have any words for myself", Murray said, via The Denver Post. Boston didn't go down without a fight and any time they got a bucket Murray had a response.
