A US Navy helicopter crashed on board a US aircraft carrier patrolling the Pacific on Friday, causing several injuries, the military said in a statement.

All flights have resumed, Navy officials announced within 12 hours of the crash, after an unspecified number of sailors were hurt when their MH-60R Sea Hawk made an emergency landing shortly after takeoff.

Navy officials say, thankfully, no one died in the accident, but at least a dozen sailors were injured. Knight said four air crew-members were aboard the helicopter when it crashed, according to Stars and Stripes.

While some Sailors will be medically evacuated ashore, none of the injuries were life-threatening. The most seriously injured were airlifted to a hospital in the Philippines, it said.

The Navy had notified the victims' families by Friday evening, according to the updated statement. But it said USS Ronald Reagan was fully capable to conduct its mission for security and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.

The nation's only forward-deployed aircraft carrier was conducting "routine operations" in the Philippine Sea with its strike group when the incident occurred, the statement said.
