Donald Trump's Supreme Court nominee hits out at 'character assassination'

College classmate claims Kavanaugh exposed himself to her at party

The fresh allegation comes as the Senate Judiciary Committee is preparing to hear testimony from another woman, Christine Blasey Ford, who alleges that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her at a high school party more than 30 years ago.

Although Dr Ford does not remember the time, date or location of the party she claims she was assaulted at, Mr Kavanaugh says he was not at the party she had described.

Democrats are demanding a delay in Thursday's hearing before a Senate panel in which Kavanaugh's original accuser, Christine Blasey Ford, is scheduled to testify, along with Kavanaugh himself.

Kavanaugh has forcefully denied allegations that he sexually assaulting a girl in high school and exposed himself to a female classmate in college, calling two women's claims "smears, pure and simple" and "grotesque and obvious character assassination" in a letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee on Monday.

Deborah Ramirez, 53, told The New Yorker Kavanaugh exposed himself to her at a dorm room party at Yale University when she was 18.

Mr Trump said Judge Kavanaugh's accusers had come "out of the woodwork" to make unfair and unsubstantiated allegations. Later, at his rally in Springfield, Missouri, Trump said Kavanaugh would be confirmed because "he was born for" the Supreme Court. So far, no Republican senators have said they would vote against him. "They have also refused to invite other witnesses who are essential for a fair hearing that arrives at the truth about the sexual assault". On 'The Story, ' Judge Kavanaugh says he has always treated women with dignity and respect. That's part of an aggressive drive by President Donald Trump and top Republicans to rally the public and GOP senators behind Kavanaugh's teetering nomination.

On Sunday, the New Yorker magazine reported an allegation by a second woman. Fox News is famously Trump's favorite news channel, a bond formalized in the summer with the appointment of the former Fox News co-president Bill Shine as deputy White House chief of staff.

The New Yorker said it contacted Ramirez after learning of a possible involvement in an incident with Kavanaugh.

Singapore fines Grab and Uber following controversial merger
It proposed the removal of Grab's exclusivity arrangement with any taxi or chauffeured private hire auto fleet in Singapore. Grab is committed to fair pricing and has not raised fares since the Transaction.

Trump later urged his supporters on Twitter to "REMEMBER THE MIDTERMS!"

Kavanaugh has denied Ramirez's accusation and labeled it a "smear". That's according to a White House official who spoke on condition of anonymity because the office was not authorized to speak publicly. And people generally, in high school, I think all of us have probably done things we look back on in high school and regret or cringe a bit.

A defiant and at times emotional Brett M. Kavanaugh sat for an extraordinary television interview with his wife Monday to try to save his embattled Supreme Court nomination against charges of sexual misconduct as a teenager. Given the multiple serious allegations against him, Kavanaugh can no longer credibly serve on the nation's highest court.

Fox News is President Donald Trump's favorite network, and he often critiques his aides when they appear there.

Sen. Thom Tillis (R-N.C.), another Judiciary Committee member, told reporters he believed that Democrats are "just taking shots in the dark" with the latest allegation against Kavanaugh, adding that he is "prepared to move forward with the vote" on the nomination barring any new incriminating information that may arise at Thursday's hearing with Blasey.

Certainly, some of the questions posed were so empathetic towards the Kavanaughs that they bordered on softball.

Trump, speaking in NY where he was attending the United Nations annual assembly, threw his full weight behind Kavanaugh whose once straightforward progress to the nation's highest court has been hit by two bombshell accusations of sexual misconduct from his school and university days.
