Brett Kavanaugh responds after 2nd woman accuses him of sexual misconduct

Nominee Judge Kavanaugh during his Senate confirmation hearing in Washington

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and Judiciary Committee ranking member Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., wrote a letter to President Trump urging him to direct the FBI to investigate sexual assault allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. Talks were continuing Sunday.

There are still unresolved procedural and logistical issues regarding Ford's testimony, her lawyers said, including whether the Judiciary Committee's Republican senators, who are all male, or staff attorneys would question her. Ford's lawyers said "various senators have been dismissive of her account and should have to shoulder their responsibility to ask her questions". She said that she pushed the person away, touching it in the process.

Smyth denied knowing anything about the incident, according to CNN.

The latest accusation comes as the Senate Judiciary Committee prepares to hear on Thursday from Christine Blasey Ford, who accused Kavanaugh of sexual assault when both were in high school.

Kavanaugh has repeatedly and categorically denied the allegations.

"Dr. Ford will tell her story in the face of an impossible choice and vile bullying by Republican leadership", said Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal of CT, a Judiciary Committee member.

Ford and Kavanaugh are expected to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, rejected. "I remember a penis being in front of my face", she told the magazine.

The full story is at The New Yorker.

Sen. Dick Durbin, a Democrat on the committee, said Sunday he believed Ford's requests have been "reasonable" and that she deserves a fair hearing to determine whether her allegations are "serious" enough to vote down Kavanaugh's Supreme Court nomination.

"If they continue to contest those two things, there won't be a hearing", Graham said.

Smyth, Keyser, and Judge have denied Ford's allegation in letters to the committee under the penalty of felony perjury. Meanwhile, Republicans viewed Ms Ford's requests as a way to delay voting on President Donald Trump's nominee.

Are We Experiencing a Ripple Rally? Price Indicates Yes
According to data from coinmarketcap .com, XRP prices skyrocketed to $0.48, a 47% increase over the $0.32 at the start of the day. There is no distinct reason for its sharp rise, although some say it can be linked to Ripple's impending xRapid product launch.

But then Debra Katz, a Ford attorney, responded to Walsh: "It's not surprising that Ms. Keyser has no recollection of the evening as they did not discuss it".

"When?" tweeted the No. 2 GOP Sen. "Go ahead and ruin this guy's life based on an accusation?"

They have also accepted the committee's decision not to subpoena Mark Judge, a Kavanaugh friend who Ford asserts was present when the incident occurred in the eighties.

"I have no doubt that, if the attack on Dr Ford was as bad as she says", Mr Trump tweeted, "charges would have been immediately filed with local Law Enforcement Authorities by either her or her loving parents".

Ramirez is calling for an FBI investigation of her claim.

Despite efforts to protect their identities, the names of those involved in those incidents, be they complainants or perpetrators, have long since either been widely publicized or remain open secrets in the halls of political Ottawa. "Neither she nor her legal representative have contacted the chairman's office".

Mr Kavanaugh denies knowledge of any such assault and wants to give his side of the story to the committee. "Brett was laughing", she said.

Patience among Republicans, though, is running thin.

There, she alleges the Supreme Court nominee held her down, covered her mouth, groped her and tried to rip off her swimsuit.

The magazine says Senate Democrats , who brought to light the claims of Christine Blasey Ford against President Donald Trump's pick for the nation's top court, are investigating an incident reported by Deborah Ramirez, 53, a former Yale student. Grassley agreed to several items, including postponing the hearing by three days, ensuring Ford's safety, and not having Kavanaugh in the same room during her testimony. And others voiced support for Ramirez's integrity, according to The New Yorker.
