Doctors Find Live Spider Spinning Webs Inside Chinese Man's Ear, Watch Video!
For several days in Aitoliko, western Greece, massive spiderwebs have cloaked the coastal town, because apparently an arachnophobiac biggest nightmare CAN become real life.
Experts say it is a seasonal phenomenon, caused by Tetragnatha spiders, which can build large nests for mating.
Warm temperatures and an abundance of food prompted an explosion in the spider population of a Greek seaside town-and their cobwebs have now blanketed a 300-meter expanse of the shoreline. "It's the ecosystem's natural reactions and once the temperatures begin to drop and the gnat populations die out, the spider populations will decrease as well".
"These spiders are not risky for humans and will not cause any damage to the area's flora", she told Greek outlet Newsit.

The Tetragnatha spiders, known as stretch spiders, are known for building enormous webs for mating when it's hot and humid.
"They mate, they reproduce and provide a whole new generation", she said.
Warm temperatures, ideal humidity levels for the creepy crawlies and a spike in mosquitos-which they feast on- caused the boom in the population of Tetragnatha in the seaside town, she said.
The webbing is a normal occurrence and poses no danger whatsoever to humans, although the sight may look frightening to some. In a bid to maintain balance, nature introduces a large number of spiders to keep the mosquito number in check.
