Patriots' Gronkowski limited in practice with ankle issue

Tight end Rob Gronkowski runs through a drill during practice on Thursday in Foxboro

The New England Patriots have released Thursday's injury report, listing star tight end Rob Gronkowski as a limited participant in practice with an ankle injury. He was removed from the injury report a week ago, though, and was not listed on Wednesday or Thursday.

Gronkowski had a strong game in the season opener against the Houston Texans, hauling in seven passes for 123 yards and a touchdown. Stay tuned for more on Gronk's injury moving forward. That's usually a sign they won't play Sunday when the Patriots travel to Detroit to play the Lions.

Gronkowski, 29, has posted nine catches for 138 yards and a score in two games this season. That he's good to go makes a big difference for the offense, as Tom Brady said Friday.

Watch Djokovic's priceless reaction after hitting Federer with a forehand

Josh Gordon could make his Patriots debut in Week 3 after the team acquired him in a trade with the Cleveland Browns. That could be a duo to watch closely, and wide receivers Chris Hogan and Phillip Dorsett could be beneficiaries in terms of facing softer coverages.

New England's final injury report will be released mid-afternoon Friday.
