Facebook ‘Dating’ Is Finally Rolling Out: The First Look From Testing

Facebook is launching its Dating app for the first time Thursday in Colombia, where users can start creating a profile, but Facebook won't start matching people until there are enough signups, according to TechCrunch.

Back in May, Facebook made an interesting announcement that wasn't entirely unexpected: it wanted to break into the dating space. Facebook Dating will have a separate space on Facebook and will suggest matches based on preferences and interests. In fact, Facebook Dating is so cut off from Facebook proper that you won't see any of your existing friends pop up as potential matches.

But if everything goes well, a global expansion could be right around the corner, and considering how many single people are (still) on Facebook, this might change the online dating landscape for good. Users can also choose to "Unlock" Events and Groups they're part of to see people from those who've done the same.

That Facebook Dating feature that sounded like such a hard sell after the social networking giant's Cambridge Analytica data scandal is here at last.

That feature is also enabled for upcoming and past events, so that if you have a missed connection, it's not too late.

Facebook is one of those services that is hard to live without. There's splashy, oversized profile photos, accompanied by a first name, age, location, and how many mutual Facebook friends you may have. When you do message someone, you are limited to text and Emojis only, no photos (you know why).

Anfield remains a fortress in Klopp's 600th league game
Wesley Hoedt's unfortunate own goal spurred the hosts into life, with Joel Matip's excellent header doubling their advantage. Substitutes: Milner (6), Gomez (6), Keita (5). "And it was a great feeling to score my first goal here at Anfield".

Djokovic to provide fire power for Europe
No doubles combination can be played a few times , unless for the doubles decider on Day 3, if points are tied at 12-all. Match-ups will be determined one after the end of each day's play through the exchange of lineup cards by the captains.

President Donald Trump Holds Rally in Las Vegas
The president noted that he and Heller - who once said he "vehemently" opposed Trump - did not always get along. To do that, he's performing political acrobatics.

The user will now filter the distance you want to find a match in, or choose based on a multitude of other selection options. Other than that, you can message pretty much anyone. However, if you unfriended an ex or family member, they could show up in your pool because they likely are friends of your friends, which is one of the ways Facebook dating connects people.

Nearly everyone who has a profile on a dating site will have a Facebook account (most dating apps require users to have one, after all!) so it is always advisable to track down your potential suitor on other forms of social media.

If and when Facebook Dating comes to your country, you won't have to worry about unexpectedly getting barraged with messages from random people looking to date, as Facebook Dating is entirely opt-in.

Finally, there are no advertisements or payment plans with Facebook Dating - as of now, it is 100 percent free.

If the service takes off in Colombia, it's possible that the company could expand Facebook Dating globally.
