OnePlus TV is coming

A Samsung smart TV. Samsung

Not only is OnePlus into presenting non-comprising and affordable flagship devices, but they actually are giving them in half the rate their competitors like Apple and Samsung are.

The post doesn't give any hints on how the TV will look - there's just a picture of a dark crimson rectangle on a black background with the words "Our Next Step Forward".

We'll bring you more news as soon as we hear.

Business Insider spoke to Pete Lau, founder of OnePlus, about the idea and its prospects on which, we have come to know the context of what you could expect with the upcoming OnePlus TV although the specific specs sheet isn't out yet as the product is now under an early stage of development.

The victor of the contest will get a OnePlus TV along with an all-expenses paid trip to the launch event.

If you think this is just another small-scale project, think again. OnePlus hasn't spoken about the launch date either.

Jobs to be created at Tesco's new Jack's discount store in Chatteris
The launch of Jack's is part of Tesco's centenary celebrations which will see the business mark 100 years in 2019. Some items did seem cheaper in Jack's: olives were 10p cheaper and Cherry Bakewell box 30p cheaper than in Tesco.

Jameis Winston might not get starting job back immediately
Koetter was asked Monday if Fitzpatrick had earned the starting role when Winston returns but declined to answer. The suit sought damages for emotional pain and suffering as well as punitive damages.

Lau calls back at the time where the OnePlus community was instrumental in the development of OnePlus One to emphasize that the community will shape the OnePlus TV. The company has said that it wants to bring "OnePlus' premium flagship design" to the TV category. Still, the Chinese smartphone maker could surprise everyone and the promise of lengthy software support does sound like something that smart TV owners would want.

For instance, any media stored on the phone should easily be accessible on the smart TV as well, something that Lau lamented isn't the case with the present TVs now available in the market.

Another thing that Lau confirmed about the OnePlus 4K TV is that it will have a built-in camera.

It can also connect to a user's smartphone for various purposes.

The OnePlus TV will be a hub for that vision, where talking to the TV will become natural (in OnePlus's vision). Lau said that the AI on the upcoming TV will be able to deliver the same functionalities that are already being offered by smart speakers, like the Amazon Echo or the Google Home. If it's looking to extend the TV beyond a device for beaming shows to your eyeballs, then it opens the door to various other segments, like smart lighting and door lock controls, gaming, and whatever else. The company will use its own image processing chipsets and algorithms, but it's going to need to purchase LCD panels from a third-party. It will integrate artificial intelligence features and will be capable of establishing seamless connectivity with smartphones. The ten finalists will be announced on October 31, with the overall victor set to be revealed before December 17. This will allow you to do video calls right in front of your TV. For OnePlus, the TV is the center of home gatherings hence, plan to fit all the functions on the TV rather than another device. Some implementations are better than others. After the OnePlus 2 incident (they did not have an NFC on board), and when the consumer's complained OnePlus added it in their next phone. "When I get up in the morning, the agenda will pop up in the TV with the local time, weather, temperature, my hotel information, and recommendations for how to dress", quotes PC Mag, suggesting a shift from a smartphone AI experience to one on the big screen.
