Loki, Scarlet Witch Getting Own Series On Disney's Streaming Service

Marvel Universe Loki Tom Hiddleston Scarlett Witch Elizabeth Olsen

That means big budgets, big production values, and a big bet by Disney on consumer interest in its streaming service. These series will likely include shows centered on Loki and the Scarlet Witch, along with other beloved superheroes who have yet to appear in their own standalone movies.

The Disney streaming service just got a whole lot more appealing for Marvel fans.

At this time, it isn't known what the stories will be, or where in the MCU timeline they will air.

Both Elizabeth Olsen and Tom Hiddleston are expected to reprise their roles as Scarlet Witch and Loki respectively. Additional projects haven't been confirmed, but the outlet says that the God of Mischief and Wanda Maximoff won't be the only ones getting shows on the streaming service. Each show will run six to eight episodes, and Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige is expected to have a an active role in their development.

Storylines for each series are still being teased out, but Disney appears to be holding back some significant fire power for the big screen.

It was an astonishing start from the hosts as the Spaniards won just four points in an opening set that lasted only 18 minutes. Later, Boria Coric defeated Steve Johnson 6-4, 7-6 (4), 6-3 to give Croatia a winning lead of 2-0 in the match.

It's previously announced its developing a Star Wars series overseen by Jungle Book director Jon Favreau, a show based on High School Musical and a live-action Lady and the Tramp movie. All of these items put together will surely inspire viewers to sign up for Disney's service.

This news also comes as interest in Marvel TV's Netflix shows has waned considerably.

Potentially, Marvel's Disney streaming shows could be a game changer for the MCU. This possibly puts Netflix's Marvel shows at a disadvantage - all the might of the Marvel/Disney empire could be going towards the Disney Play Marvel shows, leaving the Marvel Netflix titles out in the cold. Streaming is the future, and Disney is exhausted of letting Netflix get all the glory. Most notably, Loki and Scarlet Witch were listed as two of the shows in development. And hey, who knows - maybe they'll give Hawkeye his own series next.

Marvel and Disney have confirmed exactly none of this, but plans will begin to leak out more and more as Disney's late 2019 launch date approaches.
