John Brennan Asks: When Things Get Tough, How Desperate Will Trump Become?

Former defense secretary under Obama and Bush signs on to statement supporting Brennan

Over a dozen former senior intelligence officials - a group that includes officials who served under both Democratic and Republican presidents - are denouncing President Donald Trump's decision to revoke former CIA Director John Brennan's security clearance as "ill-considered" and "unprecedented". "I suspect I'll be taking it away very quickly", Trump told reporters before leaving the White House for a trip to NY.

I think Bruce Ohr is a disgrace.

According to emails reported last week, former British spy Steele kept in close contact with Justice Department official Bruce Ohr even after the Federal Bureau of Investigation cut ties with Steele as a source. Ohr knows the co-founder of Fusion GPS-the firm hired by the Clinton campaign to do opposition research on Trump, according to CBS.

Of those on the list, only Ohr is still employed in government service, but maintaining a security clearance is useful for finding documents if any of them are called to testify before special counsel Robert Mueller investigation. At a summit in Finland last month, Trump drew criticism and outrage when he told reporters he accepted Putin's denial that Russian Federation had intervened in the 2016 presidential election - a stance in direct conflict with the USA intelligence community's position.

"Through your actions, you have embarrassed us in the eyes of our children, humiliated us on the world stage, and, worst of all, divided us as a nation". As for Christopher Steele, the ex-British spy who authored the dirty dossier, Trump said, "They should be looking at Steele".

"I don't trust many of those people on that list", he said.

"Mr. Trump's claims of no collusion are, in a word, hogwash", Brennan said.

Canada's westernmost province declares wildfires emergency
The declaration affects the entire province to make sure all provincial and federal resources are focused on protecting residents. Farnworth declared the emergency based on recommendations from the BC Wildfire Service and emergency management officials.

While ignoring McRaven's criticism, Trump said he had been buoyed by support for his action against Brennan, a persistent critic who said Trump's behavior was "treasonous" in his Helsinki meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin last month. McCraven told Trump that as president, he has been an embarrassment and humiliation, and called the revocation of security clearances of his critics an attempt to silence criticism.

In revoking Brennan's clearance, Trump on Wednesday accused the former Central Intelligence Agency director, one of his most outspoken critics, of making "a series of unfounded and outrageous allegations - wild outbursts on the internet and television - about this Administration".

Brennan wrote: "Trump clearly has become more desperate to protect himself and those close to him, which is why he made the politically motivated decision to revoke my security clearance in an attempt to scare into silence others who might dare to challenge him".

The only question remaining is whether the collusion amounts to a "constituted criminally liable conspiracy", Mr Brennan wrote. Trump cited "risks" posed by Brennan's alleged "erratic conduct and behaviour" in revoking his security clearance.

Speaking to reporters Friday, Trump fired back.

Trump has ordered a review for nine others who have security clearances.
