A punk rock concert went awry for Trump supporter Tim Hildebrand of Galt, California, when his heckling of Mike Ness, the lead singer of Social Distortion, led Ness to jump off-stage and wallop him. Hildebrand says he grew up listening to the band's music and was excited to attend one of their shows, but never thought he'd leave bloody and bruised at the hands of a famous musician.
"I pretty much said, 'I paid for your music, not your politics, '" Hildebrand told the station.
At the end of the quarrel, Hildebrand claims that the vocalist gave him a concussion, two black eyes, a busted lip and a loose tooth.
"I stood pretty much with my silent protest with my middle finger up for the next two songs", Hildebrand told CBS-13.
"I was more anxious or concerned about someone in the crowd starting something", Hildebrand said, thinking that Ness probably couldn't even see him.
Hildebrand told the New York Times that he wasn't the only fan to express displeasure with Ness' political statements during the concert, as others walked out and yelled expletives toward the stage.

Gernot Rohr's side were eliminated in the group stages of the tournament managing just a win in three matches. Uruguay rose from No. 9 to No. 5, England moved up six places to No. 6 and Argentina dropped to No. 11.
Hildebrand, a longtime fan of Social Distortion, said he was not alone in the rebuttal to Ness speech, which he described as "anti-American" and "anti-Trump".
Hildebrand was escorted out of the show and filed a police report with officials outside the venue.
Ness then took off his guitar and jumped off the stage, Hildebrand said, and began punching him in the head before he was pulled back by security guards.
"It was a little bit excessive", said Social Distortion fan James Mauldin.
Attacked in the middle of a show by the very person he paid to see. Sacramento police are aware of the occurrence and are now looking into the case, according to CBS Sacramento. Hildebrand now wants the popular punk rock singer to pay for his actions.
Representatives for the band and for Ness, who criticized Trump during a concert previous year, could not be reached for comment Wednesday night.
