Pregnant Woman, 2 Young Daughters Vanish in Colorado

Shanann Watts and her daughters

Watts said he left for work about 5:15 a.m. that day and said he wasn't concerned when Shanann didn't respond to his texts and phone calls because she was probably busy with her job, having just returned from being out of town.

Christopher Watts and Shanann Cathryn Rzucek were married in Mecklenburg County on November 3, 2012, public records show. Officials said they had a strong reason to believe they know where the bodies of the two girls are located. The three were reported missing on Monday and a search has been ongoing. He wrote, "I just want to know why".

Shanann Watts' Facebook account paints a portrait of a happy family, with a constant feed of photos and videos of her family, friends and herself.

"I just knew that she wanted to sell the house quickly, and from my understanding she was moving out west to Colorado", he said. Watts originally explained that they were just ... gone.

Her husband, Chris, is now in custody in Colorado. They had an "emotional conversation" prior to her leaving, but Watts declined to classify it as an argument, he told KMGH. "Bella, she's the more calm, cautious, mothering type, and she's more like me - she's more calm".

The husband of a missing pregnant woman from Colorado has been arrested in the disappearance of his wife and the couple's two daughters. Authorities didn't say anything about the whereabouts or conditions of the three.

Weld County District Attorney Michael Rourke said formal charges against Watts will be filed by Monday.

"I don't feel like this is even real right now", Watts said.

"Shanann has a schedule and she goes by that schedule and she does not deviate", said high school friend Lauren Arnold. The FBI and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation were brought in Wednesday to help in the investigation. I hope that she's somewhere safe right now and with the kids.

In an interview with 9NEWS on Tuesday, Chris Watts said the disappearance of his wife and daughters was traumatic.

While police have not confirmed that information yet, they did announce shortly after midnight that Chris Watts, the woman's husband, has been detained.

Shanann Watts was reported missing at 1:40 p.m. MT on Monday, according to Frederick Police Department Detective Dave Baumhover. A law enforcement source told NBC affiliate KUSA in Denver that Chris Watts admitted to killing all three of them. "It was very vague", he told reporters. Police have not said if they suspect foul play and didn't specify where Watts and her daughters were last seen.
