Vimeo removes Infowars content

Warner Bros

A week ago, Jones was banned from multiple social media platforms, including Facebook, iTunes, Spotify and YouTube, all of which cited similar terms of service violations.

A company spokesperson told BI Sunday that some of Jones' recent content violated Vimeo's ban on discrimination and hateful speech.

The video platform went on to say that between Thursday and Friday last week, approximately 50 hours of InfoWars content was uploaded to Vimeo.

On August 7, Jones, speaking on the Real.Video platform, took issue with his bans, which he called a "concerted plan to erase my electronic identity".

In light of Jones and InfoWars removal from Facebook, the New York Times revealed inside sources claiming Mark Zuckerberg originally didn't want Jones's content removed.

Dorsey will talk with NBC Nightly News anchor Lester Holt about InfoWars in an interview scheduled to air Wednesday night. They included whether the mass-reporting of Infowars posts constituted coordinated "brigading", a tactic common in online harassment campaigns.

Jones was banned for promoting violence and hate speech.

We struggle to name a human being as bad as the stinking rotten block of cheese in the national refrigerator named Alex Jones.

Jones was also sued for defamation by the parents of two children who died in the 2012 Sandy Hook school massacre in CT in April.

While most social media sites have turned their back on Jones, at least two are still allowing him and InfoWars to post freely-Google Plus and Twitter.

Vimeo reportedly determined that the content violated the company's trust and safety standards within 48 hours of the videos being posted. The spokesperson added that Twitter will continue reviewing flagged content and "take action as appropriate".
