Kevin De Bruyne suffers knee injury at Manchester City training

Kevin De Bruyne

Manchester City midfielder Kevin de Bruyne could face a spell on the sidelines after injuring his right knee in training, the Premier League champions said Wednesday.

De Bruyne was pictured healthy and happy during today's City training session which involved an intense gym workout for the whole squad.

The extent of the injury is not yet known but the staff at Man City are reportedly fearing that he could be ruled out of action for more than two months.

De Bruyne made 52 appearances in a marathon 2017-18 season for City before featuring heavily for Belgium at the World Cup.

Motorola P30 renders leak, shows a very iPhone X-like design
The Motorola P30 is tipped as being one of a series of devices to be unveiled in China soon. The iPhone X-like design inspiration doesn't stop there.

De Bruyne suffered lateral knee ligament damage in 2016 after catching studs in the Etihad pitch against Everton and missed nearly 10 weeks of action.

He was a second-half substitute in the 2-0 Premier League-opening victory over Arsenal on Sunday, coming on in the 60th minute.

Now City will be without their Belgian star for a long period, but the emergence of Bernardo Silva and Phil Foden, along with the ever-present David Silva, will mean there is plenty of cover during his absence.

It's a huge blow to Pep Guardiola's side, with De Bruyne the key man behind their title win last season.
