Chelsea news Tiemoue Bakayoko has joined AC Milan on loan

Bakayoko failed to establish himself under former boss Antonio Conte following his £40m move from Ligue 1 and did not win many admirers among Chelsea's fanbase.

AC Milan have now swooped to revive Bakayoko's career, signing the midfielder on a season-long loan, with an option to buy at the end of the season for £35.6m.

Jorginho, N'Golo Kante and Ross Barkley started in Chelsea's midfield on Saturday, with Loftus-Cheek replacing Barkley in the 68th minute.

The France global joins Milan on a 12-month loan with the option to sign permanently for a mooted fee of €40m.

The 23-year-old attended the Rossoneri's La Madonnina clinic on Monday and is expected to sign a contract with the club once the checks are completed.
