Police in the far eastern Canadian city of Frederiction warned residents to stay in their homes early Friday as they responded to a mass shooting incident.

Fredericton Police are telling people to stay indoors and lock their doors.

CBC contacted employees at the Tim Hortons on Douglas Avenue and they said they have locked their doors so customers can't exit or enter.

It happened in the Brookside Drive area where there are a number of shops and houses.
