The brother of one of the two recent United Kingdom victims poisoned with the Russian-made nerve agent Novichok has said that he knows the nerve agent came from a perfume bottle.

Last Friday, the Metropolitan Police confirmed that they had found a small bottle that they believed was the source of the contamination.

Rowley's brother Matthew told BBC News that his brother is "absolutely not the brother I know" as he recovers in the hospital. British authorities said they were poisoned with Novichok nerve agent.

The scene at Muggleton Road, after it was confirmed that two people had been poisoned with the nerve agent novichok, in Amesbury, Britain, July 6, 2018.

Sturgess and Rowley were found collapsed hours apart on June 30, when they were immediately taken to the nearby Salisbury District Hospital, where the former Russian spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter were also taken after they collapsed from nerve agent poisoning this March. Moscow has rejected the accusations and has hit back by expelling Western diplomats.

UK's Home Secretary Sajid Javid, has said that Russian Federation must explain exactly what happened.

The 19-year-old son of a British woman who died after being exposed to a nerve agent first developed by the Soviet Union has called on U.S. President Donald Trump to discuss his mother with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the leaders' summit in Finland.

"When I spoke to him yesterday he was shouting 'they have killed my girlfriend, they have killed my girlfriend, '" Matthew Rowley said.

"What kind of bottle?"

"There is no evidence that either Dawn or Charlie visited any of the sites that were decontaminated following the attempted murders of Sergei and Yulia Skripal", Scotland Yard's counter-terrorism chief Neil Basu said on Monday, adding that "the investigation must be led by the evidence available and the facts alone".

"As a precaution, PHE continues to strongly advise the public not to pick up any odd items such as syringes, needles, cosmetics or similar objects made of materials such as metal, plastic or glass". 'The advice remains - if you didn't drop it, then don't pick it up'.
