Dramatic footage apparently shows moment of Wonderboom plane crash

A terrifying plane crash in South Africa has been documented in horrifying iPhone footage.

The Convair 340 plane came down just outside the Wonderboom airport. You can hear one of the passengers saying: "This is bad, This is very bad".

The video goes black again at the end, while some people are apparently heard moving through or clearing the debris.

19 people were on board the scenic flight, which departed from Wonderboom Airport near Pretoria, AIRLIVE reported. One person died on the scene, while another died a day after the crash.

The plane, built in 1954, was due to be sent to an air museum in the Netherlands.

A source told a local newspaper that engine failure is the suspected cause of the incident.

When the plane hits the ground, the video goes black for half a minute; after that, the smoke-filled cabin is seen with passengers moaning in pain in the background.
