Trump arrives in United Kingdom after attacking Theresa May's Brexit plan

Trump balloon appears before UK visit; embassy warns Americans to keep heads down

Trump's interview with British tabloid The Sun was published on the same day he arrived in London, shortly after May revealed plans for a still semi-cozy working relationship between the United Kingdom and the European Union even after Brexit is finalized.

While tomorrow Trump is having lunch with British Prime Minister Theresa May at her Chequers country estate or sipping tea with Queen Elizabeth II at Windsor Castle, tens of thousands of demonstrators are planning to gather in London's Trafalgar Square to protest against the president and his policies.

Extra security has been put in place for the visit, Trump's first visit to Britain since becoming president in 2016, with large-scale protests expected.

US President Donald Trump and his wife Melania are welcomed by Prime Minister Theresa May and her husband Philip May at Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire, where Mrs May will host a dinner as part of his visit to the UK.

Johnson isn't the only politician to have quit over May's Brexit plans, as ministers David Davis and Steve Baker also quit the government in protest.

"Mr President, Sir Winston Churchill once said that, "To have the United States at our side was, to me, the greatest joy", Ms May told Mr Trump, according to a text of her speech provided by her office. "I am just saying I think he would be a great Prime Minister".

When asked about the threat of mass demonstrations he said: "I think it's fine".

He added: 'I think he has done a bad job on crime, if you look, all of the awful things going on there, with all of the crime that is being brought in'.

The six-metre balloon has also received permission to fly over Scotland, when Trump travels there for a private stay over the weekend.

During his news conference on Thursday, the USA president also appeared to refer to Ireland as part of the United Kingdom.

The US President was asked about Brexit during an emergency press conference following the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation summit in Brussels.

Sanders comments come after an explosive interview for The Sun where Trump accused May of wrecking Brexit.

The poll conducted this week said 63 percent found Trump racist, and 74 percent said he was sexist.

Among the crowd of protesters outside American man Martin Williams, who works at Oxford University, called Mr Trump a dictator.

The decision was subsequently debated in parliament after 1.8 million people signed a petition to have the invitation revoked, however, it was ultimately Donald Trump who decided not to go ahead with a trip. His late mother hailed from Scotland, and he owns two luxury golf courses there.
