Trump advises May to sue European Union, not negotiate with it

British Prime Minister Theresa May and U.S President Donald Trump hold a joint press conference at Chequers in Buckinghamshire England Friday

In the letter, May warned parliamentarians seeking to scuttle the plan - and also those trying to force amendments to strengthen post-Brexit EU ties - that they risk causing "a damaging and disorderly Brexit". I actually told Theresa May how to do it but she didn't agree, she didn't listen to me.

In an attempt to forge a balance between those seeking a smooth Brexit and those who fear staying too close to the EU's orbit would undermine the very nature of Brexit, May sought the approval of senior ministers for her plans on July 6.

"I am yet to see a workable alternative future trading arrangement that would deliver on our commitments to Northern Ireland, preserve the constitutional integrity of the United Kingdom and deliver on the result of the referendum", she wrote.

Only hours after arriving, Trump made the prime minister's life even more hard, with scathing criticism of her in a newspaper interview.

Britain's national news agency said they spent 47 minutes getting acquainted over tea inside the castle - 17 minutes longer than scheduled. I'd rather not tell you what that option is, but I think she might.

"The general direction of policy will leave us in at best a weak negotiating position, and possibly an inescapable one".

Mrs May also insisted that her controversial blueprint for Brexit represents a "good deal" for the UK. Along with Johnson, the man who had been leading the Brexit negotiations, David Davis, also quit in protest.

In an interview with the Daily Telegraph, Steve Bannon said Mr Trump told the PM she should demand much more from Brussels than she realistically expected to get. "It is like Donald Trump. people dismissed him". "If Boris Johnson looks at this". "We're going to get it".

"We are more than two years on from the referendum: two years of soundbites, indecision and Cabinet infighting, culminating in a series of wasted opportunities".

Mrs May said she had come forward with her revised approach after the European Union offered two options for a deal - neither of which was acceptable to the UK.

"But the legacy of Brexit can not be a hard border between Northern Ireland and Ireland that unpicks the historic Belfast Agreement".

"But this solution - half in/half out - won't work, won't end the argument and will simply mean a confused outcome in which we continue to abide by Europe's rules whilst losing our say over them".

The Prime Minister acknowledged that there were strong feelings regarding the terms of Britain's withdrawal from the EU.
