Tom DeLay: I Approve of Trump Blowing Off CNN

Trump Attacks CNN, NBC in Joint Press Conference With British Prime Minister

President Trump denied criticizing British Prime Minister Theresa May when taking questions from the press Friday, despite there being easily accessible audio of his scathing interview with British tabloid The Sun.

So reporters asked Trump about the jabs at a joint news conference with May. "And she's a total professional because when I saw her this morning I said, "I want to apologize because I said such good things about you", and she said, "don't worry, it's only the press". "And unfortunately there was a story that was done, which was generally fine, but it didn't put in what I said about the prime minister, and I said tremendous things". I don't take questions from CNN, ' Trump lectured.

In the article, Trump criticized May's handling of Brexit, saying that she would likely "kill" any trade deals between the USA and the United Kingdom because she didn't take his advice.

Earlier in the press conference, Trump also insulted NBC, saying the network "is possibly worse than CNN".

During one awkward moment in the news conference, Trump called attention to Reuters reporter Jeff Mason's hat.

"I used to work at CNN".

NBC news reporter Ken Dilanian took to Twitter to suggest that John Roberts of Fox should have taken the moment to defend "his colleagues", including Acosta, who has a history of heckling at press events, instead of asking his own question of the president.

He attacked NBC News reporter Kristin Welker when he didn't like a question she asked about Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Acosta responded by saying CNN is a real network too.

The president then leaned into the microphone and loudly groused, "CNN is fake news".

CNN's Jake Tapper tweeted that he is "old enough to remember when other networks came to the defense of Fox News WH correspondents during the Obama years".

Interestingly, the man who heads "real network" Fox News, Rupert Murdoch, also owns the "fake news" Sun. She's as honest as the day is long.

He said he only proceeded with his question after "it became clear that the president wasn't going to entertain a question from" Acosta. "To issue a blanket condemnation of the network as "fake news" is ... unfair".

"You see, that is such dishonest reporting".

"The president called out one of my colleagues, Kristen Welker of NBC News, as dishonest, he said NBC News was dishonest", he said.
