Former Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri replaces Antonio Conte as Chelsea head coach

GETTYHarry Maguire shone for England at the World Cup and is now a target for Manchester United

Friday's Chelsea statement announcing that they had "parted company" with Conte was brief, and without a thank you, but it did highlight what the club had achieved before relations soured.

Conte led Chelsea FC to the Premier League title in his first season in charge after the Blues finished seven points ahead of their closest title challengers Tottenham Hotspur.

"I hope we can provide some entertaining football for our fans, and that we will be competing for trophies at the end of the season, which is what this club deserves", he said.

According to Goal, City believe the player was "bullied" into joining Sarri at Stamford Bridge and cite "an unprecedented lack of professionalism" on the part of Napoli chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis.

Manchester City are furious with Napoli and new Chelsea signing Jorginho for reneging on a deal to join the Premier League champions.

The thing is though, we won't be seeing Sarri smoking inside Stamford Bridge because smoking was banned from all stadiums in July 2007, which obviously means the 59-year-old wouldn't be able to spark up during the 90 minutes.

The former Italy national coach returned to take training this week but the writing was on the wall and the drawn-out process was reportedly due to how much compensation the club should pay Napoli for Sarri.

Jorginho had chose to move on this summer and had already made it clear that he did not want to renew his contract, and his relationship with Sarri means he was happy to sign at Stamford Bridge.

Maurizio Sarri is the new Chelsea head coach!

He helped Empoli to promotion to Serie A in 2014 and, after keeping them in the top flight, took over Napoli in summer 2015.

"In the title winning season, the club set a then-record 30 wins in a 38-game Premier League season, as well as a club-record 13 consecutive league victories", it said.
