Sacha Baron Cohen fires back at Sarah Palin

Sacha Baron Cohen's U.S. TV show disrupts ahead of first broadcast

We recently reported that Sacha Baron Cohen had gotten dressed up as a military vet and fooled Sarah Palin in a recent interview for his forthcoming Showtime show (which he teased earlier in a fake Trump University promo).

Palin, the 2008 USA vice-presidential candidate, says she was tricked into an interview, ostensibly about American veterans, by a person dressed as a disabled US serviceman. Then it got weird.

On Twitter, Ruddick posted an open letter to Palin saying he never said he was a military veteran as Palin claimed, but rather "I was in the service - not military, but United Parcel, and I only fought for my country once - when I shot a Mexican who came onto my property".

On Thursday, Cohen fired back at Palin. well, sort of.

"You used to hunt the most unsafe animals in the country, like wolves and people on welfare", the statement concluded.

Who Is America? is already ridiculous, and it hasn't even premiered yet.

Conservative pundit and ex-congressman Joe Walsh has revealed on Twitter that he was also duped into an interview with Cohen for the show after being told that Steven Spielberg and Rupert Murdoch also took part.

Palin, it turns out, isn't the only conservative figure angered by "Who Is America?", which Showtime is touting as a seven-episode series that "explores the diverse individuals, from the infamous to the unknown across the political and cultural spectrum, who populate our unique nation".

The former Republican vice presidential candidate says she fell victim to British comedian Sacha Baron Cohen during an interview for his upcoming Showtime series, "Who Is America?".

As Palin tells it, she and her daughter traveled across the country for what they presumed was a "legit opportunity" to honor American veterans and contribute to a "legit Showtime historical documentary".
