Roger Federer stunned at Wimbledon by Kevin Anderson

Wimbledon 2018

Roger Federer of Switzerland wipes his forehead against Kevin Anderson of South Africa during their Men's Singles Quarter-Finals match on day nine of the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Championships at All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club on July 11, 2018 in London, England.

The two players then held their serves brilliantly in the fifth and decisive set, until Anderson broke Federer in the 23rd game to go up 12-11.

The 2017 U.S. Open semifinalist said the crucial thing is coming down from the high of beating Federer in order to focus on the task still at hand. He won the Australian Open for the sixth time earlier this year.

"If you go out there with doubts or unsure what's going to happen, like I maybe did a little bit in that first set, it's not going to go your way".

Roger Federer's Wimbledon win streak came to a shocking halt Wednesday. There's hopefully two more matches still to be played.

Tendulkar, the former India captain widely renowned as one of the greatest batsmen of all time, was impressed by Federer's form after the 20-time Grand Slam champion was spotted praticising his forward defence during his victory over Adrian Mannarino at Wimbledon.

From there, the tall and powerful Anderson kicked on whilst Federer stalled.

Anderson v Isner will be played at Centre Court, of course, a spot Federer knows well. After dropping the first two sets, he stormed back to level the match and eventually outlasted the top seed with a 13-11 triumph in the final set.

Federer, the defending champion, has been his usual dominant self.

"Down two sets to love I just tried my best to keep fighting and scraped through the third and fourth set", Anderson said. Few considered Anderson as having a chance.

What Is the Endgame for the Trump Trade Wars?
The United States complained China used predatory practices in a push to challenge American technological dominance. Senate Finance Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, responded to Lighthizer's announcement with dismay.

Anderson trails Isner 3-8 in career meetings. And here at Wimbledon, there has been a quiet confidence about Anderson.

Federer was completely out of sorts by now and his uncharacteristic struggles on his forehand didn't improve in the fourth set.

1 Court for the first time since 2015 at Wimbledon played a factor, Federer added: 'I don't think it would have changed if I played there a year ago. So far the four matches have been really, really good for me'. To be honest, I didn't feel mental fatigue.

Anderson will now rest ahead of Friday's final-four match. You can't win against him if you don't play very well.

Now, there is an ongoing mission to continue flying the South African flag in tennis.

"The losses hurt more, you don't want to be on the loser's side", he said. He knows attention will be on him from back home, and has spoken of his hope to be an inspiration for the next generation.

"I have already gotten tons of messages from support back home", Anderson said.

"Obviously at this sort of event, playing against an opponent like Roger is going to have a lot of coverage".

"I just kept on telling myself "I have to keep believing".

Anderson is getting used to breaking barriers. After knocking out Monfils in Round 4, he spoke of the need to approach this match on his own terms. But when it comes to Federer, it is never just another run-of-the-mill game.
