Judge: FBI Agent Can Have Gun After Shooting At LoDo Nightclub

A judge has ruled that an FBI agent can keep his gun after the agent accidentally shot a patron in a Denver nightclub while dancing

Reports indicate Chase Bishop, the Federal Bureau of Investigation agent whose gun discharged during a backflip at a Denver nightclub last month, has been approved to once again carry a concealed weapon.

During a short hearing Tuesday, Bishop had his protection order modified to allow him to carry his service weapon both on and off duty, "so long as it is done in a manner pursuant to Federal Bureau of Investigation policy", Denver District Attorney spokesman Ken Lane told the Denver Post. Bishop is shown reaching for the gun and allegedly accidentally firing it and hitting another man at the bar.

During the short hearing on Tuesday, Bishop's lawyer, David Goddard, said prosecutors had offered Bishop a plea deal but didn't disclose details. A request was granted by the judge to modify an existing protection order to allow Bishop to carry his gun on and off-duty, 9News said.

Bishop, who lives and works in Washington, DC, is charged with second-degree assault in the June 2 shooting at Mile High Spirits and Distillery, which was captured on video shared with local media.

According to 9News Denver, it was revealed that Bishop was intoxicated at the time of the incident.

Ken Lane, spokesman for the district attorney's office, would only confirm the existence of a plea offer. An FBI official told the outlet that Bishop "will be held accountable".

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that these bacteria cause about 205 infections per year nationwide. Most of the 80,000 vibriosis infections that occur in the USA every year are less serious, according to the CDC .

An off-duty Federal Bureau of Investigation agent reaches to pick up his dropped firearm while dancing.

Police have said Bishop, 29, was dancing when a gun fell from his waistband holster.

Video of the incident appears to show the off-duty agent dancing and doing the flip - during it, his pistol dropped from his waistband and landed on the floor.

The agent was then seen placing the gun back into his holster before walking off the dance floor. He hired a lawyer who advertises locally about large payouts he has gotten for his clients.

Reddington told ABC News last month that he does not blame Bishop.

'We sat down at one of those picnic tables, I heard a loud bang and I thought some idiot set off a firecracker, ' he said in his first interview.
