Thai cave rescue: All 12 boys and their coach rescued

Rescue personnel prepare the transport for the evacuation of the boys and their football coach trapped in a flooded cave in Chiang Rai

The Thai boys smile as a Thai Navy SEAL medic helps injured teens. A high-risk worldwide mission ensued and the group was eventually rescued. Helicopters transporting the boys roared overhead.

Students celebrate in front of Chiang Rai Prachanukroh hospital, where the 12 football players and their coach rescued from the Tham Luang cave complex are being treated, in the northern province of Chiang Rai, Thailand, July 11, 2018.

Payap Maiming, who helped provide food and necessities to rescue workers and journalists, noted that fact.

"I'm happy for Thais all over the country", he said. "And actually just everyone in the world because every news channel has presented this story and this is what we have been waiting for".

"It's really a miracle", Payap said.

Amporn Sriwichai, an aunt of rescued coach Ekkapol Chantawong, was ecstatic. The cave where the group went missing stretches nearly ten kilometers, it has several entrances and exits, as well as large chambers, where the group members found shelter from the rising waters caused by a rainy season downpour.

They belong to an informal group of divers who call themselves the "Wet Mules", together taking on some of the world's deepest caves.

"Hooyah! Mission accomplished", read another, echoing the rallying cry of the Thai navy SEALs involved in the rescue.

Cave-diving experts had warned diving the youngsters out was potentially too risky.

Thailand's decision to dive the boys out despite their weak condition and lack of diving experience was made when a window of opportunity was provided by relatively mild weather.

'We did something no-one else thought was possible, ' he said as he thanked the Thai and worldwide rescue team.

The aim, Anderson said, was to make each of the boys "tightly packaged" so divers could keep control of them and adjust their air supply as needed. If they're chloroformed, how could they come out?

Damian Lillard: ‘I’m not unhappy
It's tough to attract players to want to come here". "Both Gary and Anfernee, they're both impressive", Lillard said . Like I said previous year , it's the urgency I want, to make those steps in the right direction so we can compete.

Kimmel: It's weird to hear Trump lie about you
Trump wasn't the president yet, but he claimed that Kimmel opened the door for him. And he was screaming that he needed to use the bathroom.

The boys had to endure zero visibility conditions of up to 30 minutes, as they made their way through the depths of the cave, according to the the leader of the United States contigent. "We will open this space as an attraction, a living museum", he said.

The first eight boys brought out were doing well and were in good spirits at the hospital.

Some of the children rescued even had a typical kid's request at the hospital after being trapped without food for so long - bread with chocolate spread.

They spent nine days in darkness until two British divers found them, before a drawn-out rescue that captivated global attention.

One of the boys has a lung infection, with the group all in quarantine for the next few days. Thailand's government had requested U.S. assistance.

"I hope today we will be faster or the same speed as yesterday", Narongsak said.

John Tangkitcharoenthawon, a local village chairman, was bursting with happiness over the successful rescue. "You have to ensure when you go in you have a way out", Master Sergeant Anderson said.

President Donald Trump joined those paying tribute to the rescuers.

Four more were brought out on Monday, and the operation ended Tuesday with the rescue of the last four boys and their 25-year-old coach. "Such a lovely moment - all freed, great job!"

The submarine is named "Wild Boar" after the name of the football team.

Football's governing body, FIFA, has invited the boys to the World Cup final in Moscow on Sunday.

Araya Hargate, one of Thailand's top actresses, posted a cartoon of the boys surrounded by rescuers on her Instagram page, which has 7.9 million followers.
