Pakistan batsman Ahmed Shehzad has tested positive for a banned substance and will be charged later on Tuesday, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has said.
Shehzad originally underwent a random dope test in Faisalabad during the 50-over Pakistan Cup in the last week of April, but news of a positive test emerged through media reports on June 20. "PCB will issue charge sheet today", the PCB tweeted. However, as per the rules of the International Cricket Council, PCB had not revealed the cricketer's name. He had already been dropped from the ongoing Zimbabwe tour, and his domestic team HBL is also considering stripping him of the captaincy.
The PCB tweeted Shehzad "tested positive for a banned substance" on Tuesday. He can also request for a hearing before an anti-doping tribunal through a written application that must be received by the anti-doping manager within 14 days. But under ICC rules PCB can not name the player or charge sheet him until the chemical report is CONFIRMED by the Anti-Dope Agency of the government. The report from India arrived yesterday, confirming results of the previous test.

Shehzad lost his Test place following Pakistan s tour to the West Indies in mid-2017 and has not played a one day global since last October. Shehzad was the highest run-scorer as he scored 372 runs with three fifties and a century for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
However, Shehzad was part of the Pakistan squad that won the two-match T20I series against Scotland.
Since making his Test debut in 2013, he has scored 983 runs in 13 matches.
