Priest slaps crying baby at baptism ceremony

Priest slaps baby

The 43-second clip, which was recorded during a baptism in France and originally shared on Reddit, shows a priest clutching onto the face of a boy as he sits in a woman's arms and wails.

The footage depicts what looks like a standard christening with the priest trying to perform the religious ceremony on a crying baby.

The man and woman are recorded attempting to pull the baby away from the priest.

A family was shocked when a priest slapped their baby across the face when he wouldn't stop crying during his baptism.

"I'm going to put water on the forehead, and after I'll embrace the young fellow", one user quoted the priest as saying.

Murray's comeback ends in defeat by Kyrgios
The problem compromised his Wimbledon preparations, contributing to a rare first-round exit at the All England Club. I never believed that was something I was going to do, or something I thought about when I was a kid growing up.

And then stunned witnesses say "he's afraid" and tell the priest to let go.

Amid gasps from the congregation, the priest is then seen pulling the child closer and putting his hand over his mouth in a possible effort to stifle his cries.

People on YouTube took to the comments section to express their disapproval of the priest's behavior.

It is not yet clear where exactly the clip was captured, however, the news was first reported on a local news website of Martinique and Guadeloupe, and the priest in the video is speaking French, so it's believed to hail from the French territories in the Caribbean Sea. I will scream louder than you. "If I was the mother of that baby I wouldn't hesitate to push or slap the damn priest back".

A man standing behind the child, who's suspected to be the baby's father, is also seen looking shocked at the priest's actions and shortly afterward begins to grab the child away from the priest.
