Donald Trump, nervous Republicans scramble for legislative fix to family separation crisis

The news site claims that Trump was shown harrowing images from the site by daughter Ivanka, but he maintains that any solution should be taken by Congress.

"I'll be signing something in a little while that's going to do that", Trump said Wednesday at the White House.

Although it was unclear if this is what Mr Trump is signing, he said he would be "signing something" and said he wants to keep families together. The order would ask the Department of Defense to help house the detained families. Until now, Trump and White House officials have instead been pushing GOP lawmakers this week to pass legislation that deals with immigration reform. They want open borders, which breeds frightful crime.

Trump has been under steadily mounting bipartisan pressure to reverse course on his policy, which has resulted in more than 2,000 children being taken from their parents and housed in makeshift cages in an empty big-box store in Texas and other shelters, including a number in NY.

Ms Nielsen is understood to be going to the White House to discuss the border problems with Mr Trump's team.

The second-ranking Senate Republican, John Cornyn, said they're proposing a "humane, safe and secure family facility" where parents and children who are minors could be detained together.

US Customs and Border Protection said on Tuesday that 2,342 children had been separated from their parents at the border between May 5 and June 9. The official did not know what prompted Trump to change course.

Despite repeatedly defending the separation policy, Trump said on Wednesday that he may sign something that would keep families together.

For days, Trump and his top administration officials were unwilling to unilaterally reverse the separation policy and insisted that congressional action was required. "We want to fix the whole thing, we don't want to tinker with just parts of it", she said.

Suspect arrested for murder of XXXTentacion
Williams does not appear in the Florida Department of Corrections offender database. Nobody said I was dead, the caption did not say XXXTentacion is dead.

Secretary of Homeland Security, Kirstjen Nielsen famous for "following orders", pretending she isn't doing things that she's doing, and separating young children from their families, made a decision to have dinner at a Mexican restaurant. Yes.

Obama's statement comes as many Democratic and Republican lawmakers push forward with legislation that would end the policy.

On Wednesday UK Prime Minister Theresa May told Britain's Parliament: "The pictures of children being held in what appear to be cages are deeply disturbing".

The "zero tolerance" policy put into place last month moves adults to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service and sends many children to facilities run by the Department of Health and Human Services.

But others pushed back on the idea that Homeland Security had led the rollback.

After Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced a "zero-tolerance" policy in dealing with migrants who cross into the USA illegally, approximately 2,300 children were separated from their families since early May. If those options are exhausted, authorities must find the "least restrictive" setting for the child who arrived without parents.

"The thought that any state would seek to deter parents by inflicting such abuse on children is unconscionable", al-Hussein said on Monday.

The focus has shifted to a new plan to keep children in detention longer than now permitted, but with their parents.

He said the Border Patrol agents who have come under fire amid this controversy are only enforcing the laws that Congress enacted.
