Love Island's Katie Salmon pays tribute to ex Sophie Gradon

Love Island star Sophie Gradon has died at the age of 32, it has been confirmed.

Gradon's boyfriend, Aaron Armstrong, announced the tragic news on his Facebook page, saying he is "absolutely devastated" by her death.

A police spokesman said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death. "A report will now be prepared for the coroner".

Sophie's ex Katie Salmon, who she was briefly coupled up with throughout her stint in the villa, shared a lengthy message with her fans in which she referenced the pressures of social media and the importance of mental health awareness.

Sophie was best known for appearing on the 2016 series of the ITV2 show, which also featured Olivia Buckland, Alex Bowen, Nathan Massey and Cara de la Hoyde.

"My love and prayers to her family and friends and all others impacted".

'I got a phone call off of a journalist and she said "Have you seen that he's dating someone else now?"

Malin Andersson, who appeared on the second series of the show, admitted the news still hasn't "sunk in". Words fail me. You helped us through so much.

She continued: "A young woman who hasn't harmed anyone but a woman who has faced a torrent of judgemental and close minded opinions since leaving Love Island. Rest in peace handsome". @Sophiegradon what a handsome woman you were.

While another added: "Tonight's episode should be cancelled in memory of Sophie Gradon".
