Gregg Popovich meets with disgruntled Kawhi Leonard

The second coming of Wilt Can Le Bron find acceptance in Los Angeles

Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich traveled to Southern California to meet with Kawhi Leonard on Tuesday ahead of the 2018 National Basketball Association draft Thursday, reports ESPN and Yahoo Sports.

The two had a "good" conversation and "more dialogue" is expected, Jabari Young of the San Antonio Express-News reports.

Leonard had told confidants that he did not want to sit down with Popovich and has been purposely hard for the Spurs to reach recently.

Leonard reportedly maintains a desire to play in Los Angeles, preferably with the Lakers.

San Antonio has been prioritizing working through the issues with Leonard, but they have encouraged rival teams to present an offer if they so choose. In particular, ESPN reported that Leonard is "irate" over public comments from Popovich and teammate Tony Parker as his absence wore on.

China 'underestimated' Trump, a key adviser says
Tokyo's Nikkei 225 retreated 1.8 percent to 22,278.48 and Seoul's Kospi gave up 1.5 percent to 2,340.11. The most heavily traded shares by volume were Aurora Cannabis, Baytex Energy Corp. and Bombardier Inc .

Leonard - who played just nine games last season - was one of the top players in the National Basketball Association in 2016-17, where he averaged 25.5 points and 6.2 rebounds per game.

The 26-year-old Leonard has been a two-time All-NBA First Team selection, was twice defensive player of the year and was Finals MVP in 2014.

Leonard can become an unrestricted free agent in 2019 and is eligible this off-season for a five-year, super-max contract worth $219 million.

Leonard, who turns 27 later this month, has been the subject of trade speculation for months after last season produced extensive tension between him and the team over the handling of his quadriceps tendinopathy, which limited Leonard to just nine games, during which he averaged 16.2 points and 4.7 rebounds.
