Local rapper Jimmy Wopo was shot dead in Pittsburgh on Monday (June 18) afternoon.

The double shooting Wopo was fatally involved in took place in Pittsburgh's Middle Hill neighbourhood. The "Look At Me" rapper was rushed to the Broward Health North hospital where he was pronounced dead.

According to WTAE, the second victim is in the hospital in stable condition, but has not been identified.

The 21-year-old musician, whose real name was Travon Smart, had multiple videos that surpassed 1 million views on YouTube, including "Elm Street" and "First Day Out". "He was destined for greatness and he wanted the best for his friends, family and community", wrote Maglin.

"I lost my brother today and it's the worst feeling in the world". Wopo had been a shooting victim on two different occasions prior to his passing, and served time in jail for drug charges.
