OnePlus 6 update to fix bootloader flaw is rolling out

OnePlus has released a fix for the OnePlus 6 bootloader vulnerability

This OTA update fixes the vulnerability. The latest version rolling out isn't so different from the rest, but the new flagship isn't the only OnePlus device on the receiving end of new software updates.

Earlier this week, OnePlus officially acknowledged the OnePlus 6 bootloader vulnerability, and said it will be fixed soon.

OnePlus 6 starts getting OxygenOS 5.1.7 with bootloader security fix and some new features as well.

Just to recap, the OnePlus 6 runs OxygenOS 5.1 on top of Android 8.1 Oreo, and sports a 6.28-inch full-HD+ (1080x2280 pixels) full Optic AMOLED display with a 19:9 aspect ratio and 84 percent screen-to-body ratio.

The freaky basketball game between Texas Senator Ted Cruz and Jimmy Kimmel is fast approaching, and the smack-talk is heating up. Kimmel is preparing to drill Cruz on policy whilst on the court. ".@ jimmykimmel All right, Big Guy...you talk a good game".

Instead, the company is working on fixing the problem and has promised to release in the OxygenOS v5.1.8 in the coming week. That said, OnePlus has also announced that it is rolling out OxygenOS 5.1.7 update for the OnePlus 6, but, it won't be released in India. This update will not be issued on Indian units, considering the last update, OxygenOS 5.1.6, has been reported to have stability issues for users in India.

The update is slowly rolling out in all the countries, but it will take some time to reach your smartphone.

OnePlus also confirmed the OxygenOS 5.1.6 update roll out was paused by the company after reports of stability issues especially from users in India. The first two updates added a host of new features such as portrait mode on the secondary camera, along with some minor QoL changes (battery percentage next to the indicator).
